A Sōtō Zen temple for the LGBTQ+ community, friends and allies in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood
Though ye are not many, ye who join us for morning sitting during the week, those of you who do, please note: We’ve selected the last Monday morning of each month as a time to be closed, with regular sitting resuming at 6 p.m. that evening. Initially, we had tried having this the case for months with no national holiday, but having the same arrangement for each month turns out to be less confusing for people. Thank you always for your ongoing support of our temple and its community.
Please have a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Holiday, honoring the American labor movement. This day is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of their country.
We will see you back for morning zazen and regular schedule Tuesday, September 2nd!
No morning Zazen or morning Chanting next Monday, but we will still have evening Zazen on August 25th at 6pm, just again, no morning schedule.
Please also be aware that HSZC will be closed for the Labor Day holiday on September 1st! All day.

And we would like to let you know due to pride events and July 4th (USA independence day), we will be just open next week July 1,2,3 & then back to regular posted schedule on July 7th. (closed Jun 29th, 30th and Jul 4th, 5th and 6th)
The Christian Holiday of Easter is upon us already this Sunday and so our Monthly Monday holiday influence closure day of April 21st will follow the holiday on April 20th.
This holiday is also in our country in general a celebration of spring and new births for people and for our adorable fellow feather and furry animal friends. Please enjoy this day off with some new born spirit and we will see you Tuesday Morning April 22nd at 6am!
