13 October: reminder for a charitable opportunity addressing hunger

Join some of us and fellow SF Queer and Allies, and Buddhist organizations in general.  You can contribute and walk with us, contribute alone or just join us for the walk and to meet others and tour the temples or centers and support the effort and intention. This walk will tour many Buddhist temples in SF including the city’s oldest and one housing a Buddha Relic that wil be open for vieiwng and will end at SFZC. Dec 3rd 2011: Trimming the Tree

We would like to invite everyone to come by and help create ornaments and trim the HSZC winter holiday tree!

The ornament creation is folding origami ornaments painting, adding glitter, hooks and flair to small Buddhas, and other ornament crafts followed by trimming the tree and dedicating the winter holiday (including Buddha’s enlightenment) decor in the spirit of friends and family (chosen and biological) with intent and actions of compassion, love, charity, good will and spreading love to your fellow man or womyn this holiday season!

When: 6 PM
What do I Bring? Elbow grease, an ornament if you want to loan it for the month, treats if you wish to offload some high calorie holiday treats and most importantly… Holiday Cheer!

 

HSZC Marching in SF Pride Parade! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Hartford Street Zen Center sangha is marching in the San Francisco Pride Parade! To join us, please meet at San Francisco Zen Center (300 Page Street) Sunday, June 26 at 9:00am.

We encourage you to wear the HSZC Pride Parade T-shirt, an older HSZC design, or something in a shade of lavender. Hope to see you there!

HSZC needs volunteer Contingent Monitors to train for PRIDE!

Contingent Monitors are volunteers/staff members who will walk with HSZC, Queer Dharma and SFZC along the parade route acting as chaperones for our contingent.

There are three trainings left on June 22nd, 23rd & 24th.

* Contingent Monitors need only attend the first hour during one of the following training sessions.
* In addition to attending one of the training sessions, please let Rev. Myo know that you will be one of our Contingent Monitors.
