Guest Speaker, Sat. 13 April: Rev. Steven Tierney

Please join us for a Dharma talk by Rev. Steven, priest-ordained by Rev. Dairyu Michael Wenger, and who is a psychotherapist and frequent consultant to 12-step programs, as well as group facilitator for our Issan-ji Sangha (community of practitioners). We’ll have zazen (seated meditation) as usual at 9:25, with the talk to follow at 10:15, and afterwards tea and cookies will be on offer in the living room. Everyone is welcome!

One-Day Retreat – Saturday, April 6th

We are hosting a full day of zazen, kinhin (walking meditation), and a Dharma talk on April 6th. You may join for any or all of the activities, beginning with zazen at 6:30am and ending around 3pm. The morning schedule will otherwise be the same as usual, with the Dharma talk at 10:15am, but instead of tea and cookies afterwards we will have another period of zazen followed by a bag lunch (or you can find a place to eat nearby). If you would like to join us for breakfast, which will be served in a semi-formal oryoki style, please sign up on the sheet near the entrance of the zendo.

We suggest a sliding-scale donation of $20-40, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Cesar Chavez Day Holiday

In observance of the national holiday, our zendō (meditation hall) will be closed all day Monday, 1 April. Please join us again for zazen (seated meditation) starting at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 2 April.
