We’ll have a short memorial for this most-famous of Buddhist women, Buddha’s aunt, who raised him after his mother died shortly after giving birth. She was also the first woman arhat , and it was she whose patient persistence led to the founding of the order for female renunciates, the order of Bhikṣūṇīs. There’ll be zazen (seated meditation) as usual at 9:30, followed by the Dharma talk at 10:30, with the ceremony right after. And of course, tea and cookies in the living room or possibly the garden will be available for all, after the zendō events. Everyone is welcome!
