Veterans Day: Zendo CLOSED

We’ll continue our custom of observing the national holidays by closing the zendo (meditation hall) all day Friday, 10 November. Our regular schedule of zazen (seated meditation) will resume Saturday morning, 11 November, at 6:30 a.m.

Hallowe’en/Samhain Closure

In the spirit of the season, our zendō will be CLOSED the evening of Tuesday, 31 October (Hallowe’en), and all day Wednesday, 1 November (Feast of All Saints). We’ll resume our regular schedule of zazen and chanting at 6am Thursday, 2 November. Have a safe and enjoyable Samhain, everyone!

NOTE: No 7am Zazen Monday, 3 October

castrofair-e1443746264593 We’ll take the morning off tomorrow, allowing for the intense atmosphere of the Faire and its tendency to keep us up very late, due to the ambient noise and bustle. Evening zazen WILL take place at 6pm tomorrow, as usual.

Dharma Talk: Saturday 30 July

KSITIGARBA BODHISATVACome and hear a Dharma talk at 10:15 a.m. this Saturday by our friend Rev. Peter van der Sterre, a long-time Zen practitioner and business owner, and a Dharma heir of Rev. Zoketsu Norman Fischer. There will be seated meditation (J. zazen) as usual at 9:25 a.m., and tea-and-cookies in the living room following the talk. Everyone is welcome.

July 4th Holiday: Zendo Closed

Everyone is invited to attend the period of seated meditation (J. zazen) beforehand at 9:25 a.m., and stay after the talk for tea-and-cookies upstairs in the living room. A great way to ease into your Saturday! All are welcome.
