Guest Speaker: Jamie Howell

Please join us for a talk by Jamie, who has received Lay-Entrustment from Rev. Dairyu Michael Wenger. In addition to being a long-time Zen practitioner, Rev. Jamie is real-estate expert and an enthusiastic soccer coach. There’ll be zazen (seated meditation) at 9:25 a.m., with the talk to follow, and then tea and cookies will be served in the living room. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Veterans Day: Zendo CLOSED

We’ll continue our custom of observing the national holidays by closing the zendo (meditation hall) all day Friday, 10 November. Our regular schedule of zazen (seated meditation) will resume Saturday morning, 11 November, at 6:30 a.m.

Hallowe’en/Samhain Closure

In the spirit of the season, our zendō will be CLOSED the evening of Tuesday, 31 October (Hallowe’en), and all day Wednesday, 1 November (Feast of All Saints). We’ll resume our regular schedule of zazen and chanting at 6am Thursday, 2 November. Have a safe and enjoyable Samhain, everyone!

Monday Mindfulness with Max: NO Class Mon. 3 July

Please Note: There will not be a class meeting this coming Monday, 3 July, as Rev. Max will be on call at the hospital. The regular meeting will resume on Monday, 10 July.

Monday 10 October – Indigenous People’s Day – Zendo CLOSED

We’ll observe a holiday Monday in recognition of the disaster that befell the first Americans subsequent to the arrival of the European powers. Our usual schedule will resume with 6 a.m. zazen on Tuesday, 11 October.

We’ll take the morning off tomorrow, allowing for the intense atmosphere of the Faire and its tendency to keep us up very late, due to the ambient noise and bustle. Evening zazen WILL take place at 6pm tomorrow, as usual.

Dharma Talk: Saturday 30 July

Come and hear a Dharma talk at 10:15 a.m. this Saturday by our friend Rev. Peter van der Sterre, a long-time Zen practitioner and business owner, and a Dharma heir of Rev. Zoketsu Norman Fischer. There will be seated meditation (J. zazen) as usual at 9:25 a.m., and tea-and-cookies in the living room following the talk. Everyone is welcome.
